I started my shop when my daughter was born and I wanted her to be able to wear all of those adorable boutique clothes. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford them! I took some inspiration from Mudpie and then I just tried to make my own interpretation of those things. The next thing I knew, even though I was just gluing rosettes onto onesies (I've since retaught myself how to sew... ha ha) and stamping my brand name on flannel and heat bonding it onto the onesies to be the size tags... I was selling them like hotcakes on Ebay. Then I found Etsy... I had heard about it, I just didn't know how to spell it! I listed 2 items and then didn't touch my shop for about a year. I kept coming up with different things to make as my daughter began to grow and I was still selling those on other sites with varying luck and price points. But one thing that was consistent, everyone loved what they were getting. And, once you learn how to do one thing, you want to learn how to do another... and so I learned how to screen print. Which I love having the ability to make anything I could really possibly want on a shirt. I've made so many different designs over the past few years that I've never had a chance to list them all. I just keep coming up with new things. I've started to incorporate vintage trims and buttons when I can and I always strive to make sure that no two of my pieces are the same. So I hand dye all of my own garments to make sure that even if you are getting the same design as someone else, you are not ever going to have the same garment. I also hand number all of my items, that way everyone can be assured they are getting a one of a kind, made by my hands (maybe with a little help from Ella-Joe) and only the highest quality that I would expect for my own child.
